“I knew if I didn’t make a career change, I would be forever stuck in a rut,” Tiffany Connell expresses.
Tiffany worked in an office setting full time for over 20 years which “paid the bills,” but the job never satisfied her emotionally or financially. She also could not alter her work schedule, which made it difficult to raise two daughters.
Already having a background in Reiki, a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing, Tiffany thought Massage Therapy was the perfect new career choice!
After researching many schools that offered the Massage Therapy program, Tiffany found that the Salter School in Malden, MA offered convenient day and evening classes that fit her busy schedule and she enrolled!
Tiffany was apprehensive about how she would juggle a full time job, school work, and being a mother. However, the faculty, staff, and classmates all made it possible. “They are phenomenal! The teachers made sure that every last person knew, as well as understood, the material that was being presented. In particular, Massage Therapy Director Sharon Ducker, and instructors Ilir Ymeri, Mark Silverio, and Tina Ryan made my experience back at school a great one. The combination of the instructors and classmates made for a great support system. I intend to stay in touch with all of the great and supporting individuals that I met at school.”
This past November, Tiffany graduated with a 4.0 GPA and received the Outstanding Student Award! Recently she was hired as a Massage Therapist for Maddox Chiropractic located in Andover, MA where she can apply her healing techniques to all those in need. She also loves that she is able to have a flexible work schedule which allows her to spend more time with her family.
The Salter School helped Tiffany change careers and gave her a new outlook on life. “I know so much more than I did before, and I don’t just mean my education. I’ve learned perseverance, determination, optimism, and patience. It was truly a great experience and I’m looking forward to applying it all to my new career!”
