"I decided now was the time to do some soul searching and figure out what I really wanted to do with the rest of my life," Shellie Morin expressed when she realized that both of her children were going to be in school and her days of being a stay at home mom were over.
Always interested in the healthcare field, Shellie chose to enroll in the Massage Therapy program at Seacoast Career School in Sanford, ME.
Shellie had a desire for a new career and her experience at Seacoast was life changing. "Had I not enrolled, I don't think I would be the person I am today!"
Along with essential massage techniques to prepare for her new career, she learned to be more intuitive not only to her needs, but to those of others. She also learned a more natural holistic approach to nutrition and became more open to other cultures.
"Going back to school was the best decision I ever made," she states.
Shellie now owns her own business called Sense-Sational Massage which offers Swedish, Hot Stone and Chair Massages. She loves working for herself. "I work out of my home when I want, and for as long as I want. I can choose when to work and when to be with my family."
"I would like people to know that if they want to change their current job or go back to school, it's never too late,” Shellie said. “It took me until I was 32, but I know I will be happy with my career for the rest of my life."
Shellie and her sister are considering opening a health and wellness center someday. "Massage Therapy is a great field to be in and I feel my future is unlimited. I know that I will always be able to learn and grow as new techniques are developed."
