Jessica Richardson was living paycheck to paycheck and working odd jobs here and there when she found out she was expecting her first child.
"I needed more for my baby", she expressed. "I wanted more for him."
Jessica was intrigued by opportunities in the healthcare field. She decided to go back to school, and after exploring her options, chose to enroll in the Medical Assisting program at Branford Hall Career Institute in Albany, NY.
Jessica had many concerns about going back. "It had been a long time for me since being in school. I had no idea what to expect, both with my classes or my pregnancy", Jessica explained.
She was comforted when her study habits quickly returned and faculty and staff members were always there to support Jessica. "It was always nice to know that someone was there willing to help and alleviated some of the pressure I was feeling."
After Jessica finished her externship, she had four job interviews lined up and was offered all four positions! "For once I got to pick which job I wanted, and which pay I wanted."
Jessica was among the first graduating class at the Albany campus and is now working as a successful Medical Assistant at Wilton Medical Arts in Saratoga Hospital. "I love to go to work," she states. "I enjoy what I do to the fullest, and I never would have been able to get here if it wasn't for Branford Hall."
Jessica is also enjoying her role as a mother and can now give her son the life he deserves. "Many working moms aren't able to provide their children with such security. I can honestly say we're blessed."
