Earl Williams

Earl Williams was legally blind and a single parent with a ten year old son, when he came to the Salter School in Cambridge, MA. Earl was looking for job security and a career he enjoyed. He remembers choosing the Health Claims Specialist program because, "It was like detective work." 

The school welcomed Earl to the campus providing him with a screen that enlarged pages from books. He recalls, "Everyday my passion for coding grew as I learned more words and recognized codes. The Salter School opened the door for me to succeed in this program." 

Earl sought out his own externship site at Franciscan Hospital for Children. In addition, Earl was the first person from the Commission for the Blind to graduate from the Health Claims program.
