Beth Lamoureaux decided she needed new skills for a new career after being out of the work force for some time raising her daughter. “I wasn’t marketable anymore,” Beth states.
Beth had taken some nursing courses in the past and always had an interest in the healthcare field, so she chose to enroll into the Medical Assistant program at Branford Hall Career Institute in Springfield, MA.
The training she received was a positive and enjoyable experience. “The faculty and staff were all very supportive and they really have your best interest in mind,” Beth shares. “Branford Hall helped me believe that I could achieve my goals and on a daily basis gave me the confidence I needed and reinforced that I can do it!”
Beth graduated in less than a year and maintained a 4.0 GPA throughout the program. Soon after, Beth was hired as a Certified Medical Assistant at Mercy Medical Center working for the Chief of Thoracic Surgery and Voice Care Specialist, Dr. Gregory Gallivan!
Dr. Gallivan is a prestigious doctor who has been in the medical field for nearly 41 years. He is known for his surgical skills throughout the state of Massachusetts. He also is famous for his singing ability, as he is an accomplished opera singer, earning him the nickname “The Singing Surgeon.”
Dr. Gallivan expresses, “Branford Hall Career Institute has every reason to be proud of Beth, as a student and as a professional in the healthcare field. She has a strong desire to succeed and takes great pride in her work. Beth’s clinical and administrative skills are outstanding and she is a great employee! Beth’s position is very important in my medical practice and her skills have proven that she was the perfect candidate for this job.”
Branford Hall provided Beth with the knowledge and experience to prepare her for the real world. “I know I was taught and trained in the right way so that I would be ready to go out into the work force,” she states.
Beth would like to thank Gaery Costa, Director of Career Services, and the Branford Hall Career Services staff for assisting her in finding her dream job within the medical field. “With their help and my desire to succeed, I got to where I am today and I am very appreciative. I would like one day to come back and teach at Branford Hall. After everything they have given me, it would be nice to give back.”
